Stress and feeling overwhelmed is a common and unpleasant problem and one we don’t always see in ourselves.
This wellbeing session helps identify the many symptoms of stress, looks at how this might impact on day-to-day living and explores some of the causes of stress.
COPING STRATEGIES
The session provides information on coping strategies giving practical solutions to try at home and at work.

DISRUPTIONS & PROBLEMS
Sleep is vital to our wellbeing and yet many of us experience insomnia or disrupted, unsatisfying sleep.
This wellbeing session explores the biology of sleep, how much we need, sleep patterns & benefits of the different stages of sleep. We will identify many of the causes of sleep issues (including working shifts) and look at the impact of poor sleep.

NORMALISING SYMPTOMS
Exploring some of the debilitating, annoying and sometimes frightening physical and psychological symptoms associated with peri-menopause and menopause. Also providing an opportunity to share your experiences with the group, if you wish.

Insight into helpful coping mechanisms and practical interventions.

DEVELOPING

Defining and explaining the importance of resilience, differentiating between positive and negative thinking, increasing self-awareness and assessing resilience. Developing emotional intelligence and learning skills to manage emotions and reduce stress.
PLANNING

Insight into some of the emotional and psychological aspects of coming up to retirement. Exploring the five stages of retirement and discovering tips for a happy retirement.
PROMOTING
relaxation
1 hour
Focussing on introducing mindfulness meditation, active mindfulness techniques and visualisation techniques to promote relaxation, reduce stress and improve sleep. This is an experiential session with no powerpoint presentation.
